Porlock Toll Road Hill Climb

Sunday 29 September 2013, Porlock, Exmoor National Park.

What a challenge from the Minehead Cycling Club! Could you cycle up this steep, daunting hill that takes you from the coastline to the moors above? The gradient is around 1-in-17 (6%) and you have a 4 mile route with a 400 metre ascent to make! As the poster says, one of the most picturesque climbs in England.

The Open Porlock Hill Climb starts at 11am. Prize pot totalling £3,000. Entries via CTT or to Tony Needham, club Secretary. The prize pot has been donated by the organisers of the Exmoor Explorer, a mountain bike event held each August (www.exmoorexplorer.com).

The Porlock Peddle will run on the same day, starting at 2 pm. A chance for families and less competitive riders to have a timed ride over part of the route. Entries in advance via Tony Needham (contact via MCC links page) or enter on the day at the start.
