Friday 15 March – A Living Landscape
Dulverton Town Hall
This varied session will provide an opportunity to hear from specialists working on a range of conservation and enhancement projects. Delegates will hear about the work of the Two Moors Threatened Butterfly Project, take a look at how Wimbleball reservoir has changed the landscape, learn more about Exmoor’s moorlands and hear how we can better value our natural environment. There will also be an opportunity to preview some exciting new exhibitions at the Dulverton Heritage Centre. After lunch there will be a chance to explore Haddon Hill putting the morning’s theory into context.
Tuesday 26 March – Moorland Heritage and WWII Connections
Minehead Methodist Church
In the morning we’ll discuss the heritage our moorland areas and how Exmoor was used to train the military in the Second World War. After lunch we will take a fascinating tour of North Hill, its tank grounds, radar station and moorland areas.
