Free event, amazing location, games and activities – it must be another Big Adventure!
The 5th and last Big Adventure for 2012 is being held at Webber’s Post tomorrow (Wednesday 31 October) from 10am to 4pm with free fun and games for all. The Big Adventure Days have seen hundreds of people enjoying free family days out this year courtesy of Exmoor National Park Authority, Heart of Exmoor, the National Trust and a variety of other organisations and volunteers.
Highlights of the day at Webber’s Post will include a guided walk with a National Trust warden, Hallowe’en games, a chance to listen for the Red Deer stags roaring, meet an Exmoor Pony, try out amazing power-kites and learn about wood carving. Explore this moorland-edge countryside and enjoy amazing views across the autumnal Exmoor landscape!
National Park ranger Adam Vasey says: “This is the last Big Adventure of the year and we’re hoping to make it a good one. Webber’s Post is a fantastic spot with panoramic views of Dunkery and Horner Wood. As well as the great autumn colours of the woodland we can also look out for rutting stags.
“We’ll have the usual range of family friendly activities including treasure trails, guided walks, face painting and craft sessions. We are very grateful to the National Trust who are supporting this event and also to our amazing volunteers.”
Time: 10am to 4pm. Date: Wed 31 October 2012.
