25 October 2012 – Sheepdog Training

Exmoor Hill Farm Project and the Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership have arranged a sheep dog training day at Combeleigh Farm near Dunkery Beacon courtesy of Mary Bromiley and Rabbit and Penny Slattery.

Picture provided by Exmoor Hill Farm ProjectBeing able to work a sheepdog is a traditional moorland farming skill, that remains vital today. Dartmoor brothers Jed and Bob Watson, both experienced sheep dog trainers and keen trialers, will be on hand to help you in training your sheep dog. The day is aimed at farmers looking to train and bring on their own dogs; each dog and handler will get to spend time one to one with both Jed and Bob.
