These short courses by Lantra trainers are perfect if you have experience of some of these skills, but do not yet have a certificate. We have subsidised the prices to make them affordable – and have a special HALF PRICE offer for young farmers, trainees and moorland managers who look after Exmoor’s moorland. This offer also goes out to young people aiming to do moorland management as part of their career.

These courses will be hosted at the College Farm Unit, West Somerset Community College, Minehead. Prices include assessment and a Lantra certificate if you pass.

Book by calling Angela Barker on 079675 49452.

Moor Skills

The ‘Heart of Exmoor’ scheme has funding to help people living and working in Exmoor National Park to share moorland management skills and knowledge.

We work alongside experienced farmers, local providers, and our partner organisations to deliver this – but what courses would you like to do?  Would you like to try moorland management, but need some experience, mentoring or courses? Have you got the skills, and could pass them on to young farmers? Please contact Jason Ball on 01398 322164 to get involved.

The Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership Scheme is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and our local partners and funders. Part financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2007-2013: Europe investing in rural areas.
