Find events ‘on the map’ – now Exmoor Visitor is interactive

NEWS FROM EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK

Exmoor events go interactive

People can now search and explore events on the Exmoor National Park website by using the newly upgraded interactive map (http://www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/visiting/visitor-map)

Based on popular Google Maps technology, the map allows people to search for events for a defined period, see them on a map and even generate directions on how to get there.

Ben Totterdell from Exmoor National Park Authority says: “This is just one of the improvements that have been made to the mapping pages,  others include the addition of points of interest with basic information on some of Exmoor’s best loved spots and a selection of photos. You can also find a range of walking routes and information on facilities such as car parks and toilets.

“Our interactive mapping pages have always been among the most popular and well used on the site, with tens of thousands of visits a year. By making events information available on the map we will be able to spread the word to more people about the amazing number of guided walks, festivals, family adventure days, adventure sports, local shows and other events that happen in Exmoor National Park throughout the year.”

Further improvements are planned to the interactive map for 2012 including adding horse riding and cycle routes and some of the best spots for families to explore.
