Delving into the past on Dunkery

Moorland the Heart of ExmoorDavid and Faye said today’s excursion to Dunkery Beacon went very well – this was an adventure for families on the John Muir Award week that our lovely friends at Nettlecombe Court are running in partnership with Heart of Exmoor. Lots of fun discovery of prehistoric features, and the cloud cleared in time to give breathtaking views!

Thank you to the Field Studies Council team, and to Paul Camp (National Trust) and Rob Wilson-North (Exmoor National Park Authority) for their insights of the historic environment at this famous piece of moorland.
