Exmoor Gorse and Scrub Management Workshop
Wednesday 8th June
10.30 am – 1.00 pm
An event requested by moorland managers, for moorland managers.
Gorse and scrub management is an increasing problem on Exmoor, with a heavy cost burden for farmers and landowners. Different control methods can bring varying results.
Exmoor Hill Farm Project and Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership have worked with farmers to set up a FREE workshop on this topic, to look at the practicalities of gorse and scrub management, and learn from each other about how best to deal with it.
The session will start near Brendon, Devon, with a visit to a site over-run with gorse, where the farmer is at a loss as to how best to tackle it.
We will then convene at the Staghunters Inn at Brendon for further debate, hearing from a range of people with different experiences including local estates, farmers, graziers, contractors, ENPA and Natural England. Our aim is for everyone to be able to take forward the best ideas and practical solutions shared on the day.
Please contact Exmoor Hill Farm Project to reserve your place.

This free event was made possible with money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, LEADER 4 Torridge and North Devon, and Western Somerset Local Action.
A detailed programme will be sent out in due course.
We very much hope you can join us.
