Twitter growth – over 100 followers fast

Helping people to enjoy and appreciate Exmoor’s moorland and supporting those who take care of it.

Yes, we are on Twitter! Does it matter?

We found a graph to show the numbers of people following us on Twitter. We started on 26 March and now it’s 19 May but it will be good to note who’s watching when our twitterage reaches 3 months, on the 28 May.

Twitter has definitely helped Heart of Exmoor to take a place in the networks rooted in and around Exmoor National Park (yes @ExmoorNP tweets too!). We have had lots of retweets (sharing/forwarding) of our twitter posts by local people, colleagues, groups with a common interest and occasionally some very random fans.

Who follows us?

Some people seem to link up to our Twitter page for about 1 day, in the hope that they get ‘followed’ in return, but they ‘unfollow’ sharpish. Typically this is done by sub-celebrity tweeters who want thousands of followers for some kind of business mission. These characters aren’t really who we want tagging along.

We don’t need a huge Lady Gaga scale following – but we really appreciate everyone who subscribes to our web things for a good reason – those people who love Exmoor’s heathery parts, and take a keen interest. After all – we only blog and ‘tweet’ to reach people who are interested in what we are doing. There is no point in having lots and lots of followers if they mostly avoid noticing our stuff.

 So thanks for reading. Follow us if you like ; D  —{@heartofexmoor }
