Shear Exmoor is a sheep-shearing competition for charity, with fun thrown in, to create a great event for family.
- Don’t blink when they do the high speed shearing!
- Be amazed by the precision of the Blade shearing!
Shearing is a skillful job – and Exmoor has an abundance of talented shearers. Organisers want to show locals and visitors what Exmoor has to offer.
Shear Exmoor will raise funds for a local charity CLOWNS, who provide learning and entertainment opportunities all over Exmoor for young children and the local Young Farmers Club.
Starting at 12 noon – there are 7 different classes including Open, Intermediate, Ladies, Veterans, Young Farmers Junior and Senior and Blade, plus a fun Team Shear event. There will be additional demonstrations of shearing equipment and local produce and uses of Wool, Bar and BBQ, and CLOWNS will be on hand to do keep the children entertained to create a fun day out for the whole family.
