A peaceful corner near the Wimbleball Ironman

The famous Ironman 70.3 will take place around Wimbleball Lake on 19th June 2011. The race involves a swim across the lake, a cycle ride around the local roads, and a run at the Wimbleball site.

Nearby is one of Exmoor’s least visited moorland areas, Haddon Hill. The cycle route passes it (road closures will be in place on the big day) but most of the competitors will probably not even realise the moor is there. The best time to visit Haddon Hill is not on the same day as an international Ironman race! Pick a pleasant day and take a ride there, or drive and head for the car park.
