Haddon Hill Big Adventure
Family games and events including treasure hunts, nature games, ranger led walks. Hunt for minibeasts and the Exmoor Beast! The event is open all day so come along and join in. Activities start on the hour. Adults must accompany children. Please wear outdoor clothing and suitable footwear. Toilets available on site.

Exploring Exmoor’s Restored Bogs
This walk will visit the Exmoor Mires-on-the-Moors Project sites on Aclands Allotment at Squallacombe. Cross the wildest parts of Exmoor to look at some beautiful bouncing bogs and their rare wildlife. This walk will be on access land but will cross rough and tussocky ground which is very wet in places. Good waterproof walking boots and the ability to handle rough terrain are a necessity.
TIMES: 10.30am – 3pm. The total route will be roughly 4 miles.

Simonsbath’s historic water-powered sawmill
A guided tour of the sawmill and estate workshops in a beautiful riverside setting at Simonsbath in the heart of the National Park.

Anstey Gate Evening Deer Search
Join an Exmoor National Park Authority Ranger for an evening deer search to try and locate the Red Deer of Exmoor. Binoculars, walking clothing/boots essential. No dogs.

Dunkery by Moonlight Guided Walk
Join an Exmoor National Park Ranger to walk up the steep track to the highest point on Exmoor – Dunkery Beacon. Watch the sun set over the Bristol Channel & the distant mountains of Wales, & see the full moon rising like a huge Somerset Brie above the Brendon Hills. ALTERNATIVELY feel your way up Dunkery in thick hill fog, see nothing but swirling white damp mist, hear the many strange, wild night sounds in which Exmoor excels.

Events – important notes:
Children under 16 and students can attend walks for free. Walks by national park rangers are usually £3 and their events are £1 per person including children.
Please wear sensible footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather and countryside. Walking boots are recommended for most walks, although stout shoes should be adequate for all but the challenging walks. Unless specified, walks will normally take place whatever the weather. In particularly adverse conditions it is up to the guide’s discretion to cancel or curtail the walk or to decline to take persons not adequately equipped.
