Exmoor Moorland Apprenticeships

Dave Gurnett and I had a meeting this morning with Charlie Olive and Marguerite Bowden at West Somerset Community College about the Moorland Apprenticeships we’re creating.

We have funding for 3 apprentices through the Heritage Lottery Fund and LEADER – both from Western Somerset Local Action and from LEADER 4 Torridge and North Devon.

We need 3 dedicated farmers to take on 3 dedicated young students. The 2-year Exmoor Moorland Apprenticeships will focus on local moorland management and upland farming. Those selected will be very lucky. This is a unique project, and a real one-off opportunity.
